PAPER AND BOARD - GENERAL


Paper 

A homogeneous sheet of felted cellulose fiber, bound together by interweaving and by the use of bonding agents, and made in a variety of types. It is used for a multitude of purposes such as writing, printing, wrapping, clothing, industrial, domestic, sanitary, etc.


Board (paper board)

A generic term applied to certain types of paper frequently characterized by their relatively high rigidity.
Note 1 :In generic sense the name “paper” may be used to describe both paper and board as defined.
Note 2 : For some purposes, materials of grammage less than 225 g/m2 are considered to be paper, and  material of 225g/m2 or above are considered to be board.
